I have used Clymer manuals for over 40 years, and they are excellent. But, they are not indexed well, and sometimes the only way to find what I need is to flip through the pages until I see it, which is not only time consuming, it’s easy to overlook the topic that way. Clymer also shares a fault with all manuals, both manufacturer and aftermarket, in that some of the pictured details are not visible when actually doing the work; they are correct, but some parts must be removed to see the pictured detail on the machine. Given these, Clymer is probably the best.

    Book with loads of info!
For the beginner as for the advanced mechanic, will find regularly the need to re-read this book, in order to soak in everything this book has to offer!

As a beginner, home mechanic, or just hobbyist, this book starts out with the basics of the basics of mechanics and electricity.
The further you go, the deeper it goes into stuff, more specific the bike, and less generalized.

It’s a keeper book,if you own a Honda, and want to learn to do some basic jobs yourself, instead of spending high $$$ dollars, for the outrageous bills (sometimes exceeding $90/hr).
If you only succeeded replacing disc brake pads, air and/or fuel filter, and oil changes, you have already bought back the price of this book!

It’s a great way to become more knowledgeable about your vehicle!

This is a very detailed guide to just about anything you would want to do to a Honda 750 Shadow Spirit. Accompanying photos along with narrative as well as helpful hints and cautions make this a do-it-yourself confidence builder. That said however, there are things outlined in this book that convinced me that I shouldn’t attempt. Specifically those needing special tools and equipment.

You will learn much about your bike and enjoy the read. It is a very thorough and helpful book.

This is a great maintenance manual for your Shadow. It is comprehensive and details so many issues and items in great detail, so that even a rookie can fix his bike.

I was ever so happy that they sent it alllll the way from there to alll the way here in OZ my only concern was that it got damage from not being wrapped with more padding to protect it from its long journey maybe there’s a thought for the next postal

After buying a 2003 Honda motorcycle, I wanted to be sure it was in safe, working order. The repair manual for this bike is about $70 from helm inc, the company that actually prints all the shop manuals for several motorcycle and car makers. The Clymer manual was less than half that price, and is just as good as the “official” manual for the shadetree mechanic. The directions are clear and easy to understand, and the photos are, for the most part, accurate and functional. The only complaint I might have would be that the photos could use more color. I would certainly recommend this book, and all clymer books, to anyone that owns a vehicle for which Clymer makes a repair manual.
