Haynes manuals are written specifically for the do-it-yourselfer, yet are complete enough to be used by professional mechanics. Since 1960 Haynes has produced manuals written from hands-on experience based on a vehicle teardown with hundreds of photos and illustrations, making Haynes the world leader in automotive repair information. Covers Chevy S-10 and GMC Sonoma pickups (1994-2004), Blazer and Jimmy (1995-2004), GMC Envoy (1998-2001), and Oldsmobile Bravada & Isuzu Hombre (1996-2001).
Good service from the seller but new Haynes manuals are terrible. My Haynes from the 80s is an excellent manual but the newer ones are almost worthless. Very poor pictures, very limited and inaccurate details and they try to cram too many models into one book. They spend more time telling you to unhook your battery than they do explaining the more sophisticated procedures you bought it for. Save your money and look the info up on line or buy a used shop manual off ebay. By the way, Chilton’s bought out Haynes so they’re almost identical.
I never received the book, maybe there was an issue with the service post, this was an international ship so maybe the problem is in there. The customer support didn’t help so much since I didn’t can track where the package was lost. I have received other packages from Amazon so I don’t understand.
I always purchase a Haynes manual for every vehicle I’ve owned. They are very informative and the step by step instructions are so easy to follow.
I’ve had other Haynes manuals, and this one is more general than most. Its not very useful at all. I wouldn not recommend it.
Book arrived in minimum time and in perfect condition. It is exactly what I wanted and covers all aspects of repair
and maintenance. I am very pleased that this product is still available and in such great condition.
I bought this to help with repairs on my truck. All in all it works pretty good. Not as in depth as I would hope, but it is definitely helpful. The pictures are all black and white and there are not enough or they are just not to helpful. Has the torque specs that you need and has a good overall coverage of truck repair. This book would cover what most home diy mechanics will probably do. If your thinking about repairs on your truck you should get this because it will help.
found this book for a good price. I’ve been wanting to buy the book, finally did. I recommend it to anyone who owns or works on these type of vehicles.
Maybe I shouldn’t expect so much, but why is it that it’s so difficult to find complete, accurate information about electrical systems, especially emissions related? I bought this manual to diagnose a problem with the evaporative emission control system, and this book doesn’t even give component locations let alone detailed information. Wiring diagrams are generic for 4 or 6 cylinder and don’t even include the evap pressure sensor. There are no connector pinouts. Probably I ask too much …
Haynes it touted to be the best manual. Overall I found it useful (execpt for the sort of out-of-this-world rebuild your engine section. They try to cover too much. Case in point, I bought this to help service a 2003 Sonoma in need of wheel bearings. The manual did not have accurate torque figures for that year. Had I relied 100% on this manual I’d have ruined 300.00 worth of parts. Spend the extra and get a good shop manual.
Please note, this is not reflective of the seller, shipping and condition were great.
Every car I’ve owned I bought a Haynes Repair manual with it, countless issues were resolved at the price of parts only because I had a step by step picture guided instruction manual to fix the problem, and that is just what this is. The first thing I’ve done with this vehicle is replace the driver side power mirror. Went without a hitch.
