Chilton’s, as usual, lives up to it’s reputation as the “Go-to” book for auto repair. With everything from how to tear down and rebuild your engine, transmission and rear-end to wiring diagrams, this is a complete book for either someone who wants to work on their own car, or someone who wants to know more about their car. I highly recommend it.
If you have a 4.6L SOHC V8 in your mustang don’t bother with this. Almost all the pictures and descriptions deal with the V6 or the Cobra engines.
Typical Chilton. Easy to read and accurate descriptions of troubleshooting and repairs. Very much a Chilton fan over other brands of manuals short of service manual from mfg of your exact vehicle which runs hundreds of bucks.
Great book for repairing my mustang. I like to fix things myself and this book is a great help. If the job is to big then let the professionals fix it.
This manual is great it goes in to more details than the other book it has helped me wit trouble shooting and other things with the car
The details are acceptable for most repair jobs but nothing in detail. It covers too many models in too short a space. Things like replacing a covertible top is not covered at all. Instructions are too vague and pictures are worthless.
This is the best book out there. But I’m a novice not a pro so I needed a repair manual that is specific for only my car, this book is too general.
PROS: This is the best book for Pros.
CONS: I need bigger, clearer & with color pictures. I need simpler & clearer step by step directions.
PROBLEM: There’s no book out there for us beginners. We’ll have to settle for this book.
good guide for beginners .Not so great for complex repairs .lack information for detailed repairs in my car.iI would recommended just for general information
I have a 2000 Mustang and i got tired of paying out the nose for a mechanic to fix my car, and I remembered my dad used a Chilton guide on every car he had growing up. So I bought one and I have had it for a while now and it ahs saved me so much money. If I ever get another car, I’m Getting a Chilton Guide.
