I purchased this service manual for my 2006 Ninja 500 and it has been extremely useful in only 1 month’s time. It goes into every detail for just about any maintenance task that you can imagine on this bike. I highly recommend it if you have a Ninja 500.

I’m a science teacher so I wish that it was organized more like my textbook, showing materials and vocab…a type of book that assumes that the person knows nothing. So, it’s helpful but I still wind up doing more research because I don’t know anything.

However, your only choices really are Haynes and Clymer. But you won’t be able to find the manuals with the supplements online (believe me I looked). Anything else you need to know that this manual can’t help you with, go to […]

But you will need this manual. Nobody’s going to like you going on the forum and asking “How do I change my oil? Please give me step by step instructions.”

Black and white pictures. It’s pretty detailed but sometimes things are vague, eg, disconnecting throttle cables. The manual simply says “disconnect throttle cables.” Well, if like me, you’d never seen how a motorcycle has it’s throttle cable connected to a carburetor, it might stump you, hence the forums (search for it first!)
